Christmas

Hi! I am not very good at this. I haven't written a while so I don't think very many of you will read this. Christmas is coming and I don't know about you but we are very busy. My brother in the army is coming home next week for two weeks!! My sister-in-laws baby is due in less than a month!
We have been getting in to the Christmas spirit, we got our tree last Saturday! It is beautiful if I say so myself. Christmas is a very special time of year, we always celebrate by going to my grandmas house on Christmas day and celebrate with our immediate family another day!
I am making Christmas presents and buying some of them of course. I am running out of time I still have to get a few.

Reenactments are done for the year but we have a party in January which I hope to wear the party dress I made!
My sister-in-law had a shower with our reenacting group and one of the ladies gave her a baby gown and another one gave her a size 12 mos. gown. They are beautiful! I hope that when I have a baby I get some beautiful baby gowns also.

Also do you know of any good books about mothering in the civil war.

Well, I am going to leave you now and hope to write before to long.

The end of July!

Here it is the end of July and I haven't been on here since May.

I am sorry I have been very busy. I finished my dress and showed it in fair. I got best of show with it. I am posting a few pictures of the bodice. I hope you like it! I really like it but I am not sure when I am going to wear it.

On other business, I am going to be an aunt my brother and his wife are expecting a baby
in January.

On reenacting are last one was July 18-20th at Charlton park. It was a nice one.

A sunny day in may!

As you can see I am not very good at getting on this and writing on it.
So, I thought I would write something today. It is a nice day kind of cool outside. I haven't worked on my dress very much lately, I have been very busy but hope to get a chance to work on it some this week. This morning my mom and I helped at a funeral lunchen. I went to a reenactment in Niles. The 17-18th that was a lot of fun.

Fabric

I got the fabric for my dress! Double pink stripe with little white diamonds. I started on my dress on Monday, I cut it out last week. It is turning out pretty good I got the bodice half way done. I am hoping to have it done by the end of the month. I miss the warm weather we had a week ago. That was one reason I have not been on here. Well I have other things to do.

Civil war party dress

I am hoping to make a party dress to show in fair this year and am having a hard time finding enough fabric, I need about 10-12 yards. I would like a double pink fabric. It would be easier if I had more money. I have just started reenacting with my family this past year.

My aunt just gave me some fabric I can use for baby clothes and underpinnings.
