I am hoping to make a party dress to show in fair this year and am having a hard time finding enough fabric, I need about 10-12 yards. I would like a double pink fabric. It would be easier if I had more money. I have just started reenacting with my family this past year.
My aunt just gave me some fabric I can use for baby clothes and underpinnings.

Your dress sounds so pretty! What style are you making? I can usually make a dress from about six yards, but if you have flounces and ruffles the yardage does add up. :(
What sort of fair are you showing it in?
I'm excited to see you have a blog too! :) I love the name of it!
I am planning to use the simpicity pattern 3855. I want it to be fancy becouse I already have a day dress and a work dress.
I am showing it in my 4-H fair.

That does sound quite pretty. I showed a Civil War dress in 4-H the last year I was in (three years ago). A double pink would be lovely! I found some on sale a few years ago at a quilt shop that was having a sidewalk sale. 8 yards for $15. I was pretty happy. :)
