Wedding gown and wedding!

I am now married and in Hawaii! We got married on December 18th! It was a nice wedding. We had 3 songs, How Beautiful, Keeper of the Stars and Savior like a Sheperd Lead us! we signed the marriage license during the ceremony and had the fathers and grandfathers pray over us a blessing. We had almost 200 people there! I am very Thankful to God for all he worked out for our wedding!! Here are a few pictures of my finished dress! This is the front. It has a sweatheart neckline with a little elastic in it. Here is the sleeve, it is long puffed sleeve with 3 buttons on the cuff.

Here is the back, it has 9 buttons, a short zipper and a tie at the waist.

Here is the full back. It has about a 1 1/2 foot long train.

I hope you enjoy the pictures!

1890's Blouse and Skirt

I did it, I finished my 1890's Blouse and Skirt! I started this project in April. I need to work faster. I finished it in June. I showed them in the fair and got an Outstanding on the blouse!!
The Gibson Girl blouse.
The front is gathered into a yolk, it has sleeves that are 3/4 legth and gather into the cuff.
The back also has a yolk and buttons down it. ( I only made real button holes for 4 of the buttons the other ones are just sewn on.) It also has a tie around the waist. The blouse is made out of 1 1/2 yards of a calico print.
The Circular Bell skirt. The front of the skirt.

It is longer in the back and pleated into the waist band to fit. I used a Brown twill and lined it with cotton. The skirt had about 5-6 yards of fabric plus it is fully lined!
I think of Anne of Green Gables when I see this outfit!
I am hoping to wear it this fall. It is very warm for the summer.

My sock monkey

Here is my first sock monkey, he turned out kind of funky!
What do you think?
He was fun to make though.

I am sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been very busy and I just found out that my sweeties training is longer then he was told. I know that God is faithful and he will show us the way, we just need to trust him!

Beauty

I saw a beautiful sunset on Thursday evening. It had been raining most of the day and cleared enough for a sunset. It is amazing the sky after rain! It made me think of the beauty of the Lord!

"And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us." Psalm 90:17a
